ANDERSON WITHDRAWS FROM GERMAN GRAND PRIX

GARY ANDERSON is OUT of this weekend’s German Grand Prix due to a shoulder injury.

The Flying Scotsman was forced to concede his match with Martin Schindler in the Players Championship earlier this month.

With the clash tied at 3-3, Anderson told the referee and Schlinder that he could not continue because of the pain in his shoulder.

The double world champ has undergone treatment in a bid to solve the issue, but the Euro Tour in Munich over this Easter weekend comes too soon.

Dunvegan Darts – Anderson’s management – have confirmed that he should be fit to return for the next Players Championship events on April 8 and 9 after getting further treatment this week and advised to rest the shoulder.

The injury is a setback for the Scot who has been outstanding this year and is currently third in the PDC form guides.

It’s also been revealed he is the most productive player in the world right now at switching to treble 19.

In each of his three matches at the 2024 World Championship, Anderson attempted barely more than one treble 19 for every 10 treble 20s, but was more accurate on the former.

Over the past two years, Anderson tops the lot with 36.08 points per switch to the treble 19s.
