”I’m doing more stuff outside of darts than I’ve ever done, which makes me happy”

JAMES WADE admits he wants a “life after darts” as he KO’d boxing legend Frank Bruno on the oche.

The 11-times major winner has teamed up with Bruno to talk about mental health issues after linking up on social media.

Wade, 39, recently completed a tour of the country in a car worth £501 to raise money for BiPolar UK, which both he and Bruno suffer from.

The boxing star congratulated him on Twitter and suggested they team up for further fund-raising initiatives for the Frank Bruno Foundation.

Wade and Bruno played each other at a Jewson store with the darts ace starting on 501 and the boxing star on 201.

The pair then teamed up for a 501 challenge which saw Wade take out a brilliant 113 finish to seal £501 for Bipolar UK and the same amount for The Frank Bruno Foundation.

Wade told the Daily Star Sport: “I’m doing more stuff outside of darts than I’ve ever done, which makes me happy.

“It’s because I want a life after darts. I’m not sure what that will be but the [mental health] charity stuff is a good thing for me because I can understand what it is.

“I’d do anything for any charity but I like doing stuff for bipolar and ADHD, because I know what it is, I can relate to it, I know how frustrating it is.”

Wade’s latest World Championship bid starts on December 22 at the Ally Pally against either Jim Williams or Sebastian Bialecki.
