WORLD Youth Champion Ted Evetts has signed a new contract to keep him with Unicorn Darts for the foreseeable future.

‘Super’ Ted will remain a Contender member of the team as he continues to make huge strides in the sport.

The 25-year-old from Warwickshire underlined his massive potential by beating Nathan Rafferty to win the Youth title in late November.

Evetts admits: “It’s a huge boost to sign on the dotted line again with Unicorn.

“Everyone at Unicorn has been behind me 100 per cent all the way during my journey, through the highs and lows.

“For Unicorn and the entire team to show so much faith in me gives me the belief to achieve big things.

“Hopefully winning the World Youth Championship is just the springboard to a really successful career.”

Evetts had only been playing darts for over four years and won a prized PDC Tour Card at Q School in 2016.

He has since gone on to reach the last 32 in the UK Open and European Championship twice. Plus an outstanding record in the PDC Development Tour.

But the highest achievement to date is undoubtedly that Youth title.

He added: “I feel like I’m progressing all the time. Like every player, my focus is on the World Championship. I’ve had some really tough draws against Gerwyn Price and Adrian Lewis.

“But I know I’m improving and with the backing of Unicorn I know I’ll only get better.”

Unicorn Player Liaison Manager Matt Rankin believes Evetts has got a big future: “We were all delighted for Ted when he deservedly took the World Youth Championship title.

“He is a very level-headed young man who has such huge potential. We are thrilled to continue our excellent relationship and excited about what the future holds for Ted.”
