''It would be nice to do what I did seven years ago''

GARY ANDERSON is looking to roll back the years and repeat his World Matchplay glory from seven years ago.
‘The Flying Scotsman’ has been in great form this year after already bagging the Players Championship Seven and the European Darts Grand Prix titles.
Eight-times major winner Anderson added more proof he’s in the mood for a big Winter Gardens run by making the final of the Baltic Sea Open in Kiel at the weekend before losing out 8-3 to an inspired Gerwyn Price.
The World No.12 heads to Blackpool with his sights firmly set on repeating his 2018 heroics.
He said: “It would be nice to do what I did seven years ago.
“But with darts you can play fantastic and the next game not so good.
“It is going to be a good tournament in Blackpool this year.”
Anderson will face Luke Woodhouse in the first round of the Matchplay as he bids to become just the fourth player to lift the Phil Taylor Trophy more than once.
The former World Champion has the second highest average on tour over the past year with a stellar 98.66, trailing only Luke Littler.
On losing to Price at the weekend, he added: “Gezzy is after it. You have Michael van Gerwen, Luke Humphries and Luke Littler. It is going to be a good one.”
“To get to the final in any tournament is great. To come to Germany and get to another final. I’ll pat myself on the back.
“Gezzy played well the whole tournament. His name was on the cup which it was. He’s been one of the top players for the last six or seven years.”
