''I’m trying to keep it a little more intact and inside because I don’t want to show the opponent things''

CAMERON MENZIES admits a life coach is helping him with “fighting his demons”.
The World No.36 opened up on the mental side of the sport after powering into the quarter-finals of the European Darts Open.
‘Cammy’ followed up his thrilling 6-5 victory against defending champ Dave Chisnall with a confident 6-3 triumph over Ritchie Edhouse before finally losing to Jonny Clayton.
Ayrshire thrower Menzies continues a breakout year that has already seen him win Players Championship 11 and reach two more ProTour finals.
Menzies admits that managing his nerves and emotions has been a big focus behind the scenes.
He said: “Social media is quite bad that way. But I do agree with what a lot of people say.
“I went to a life coach and I try now not to show too much.
“I still do it, but I’m not as bad as what I was before.
“It’s because I am really nervous – I do things that I’m not proud of.
“I’m trying to keep it a little more intact and inside because I don’t want to show the opponent things.
“I’m sometimes not playing great and I’m fighting my own demons in my head because I am trying so hard.
“But yeah, I’m just trying to be a little more chilled and relaxed.
“I might look that way but trust me – I don’t feel that way! I’m just trying to become a better person and a better player.”
