SMITH TARGETS MAIDEN EURO TOUR TITLE

SMITH TARGETS MAIDEN EURO TOUR TITLE

ROSS SMITH has set his target of winning a maiden Euro Tour title.

‘Smudger’ won the European Championship in 2022 and has claimed four Players Championship events in his stellar career.

World No.18 Smith has had a great start to the year reaching the semi-final of three ProTour tournaments including the Belgian Open.

And the Dover ace has recorded the SEVENTH most 105+ averages on the PDC circuit in 2025 highlighting his incredible form.

It marks an impressive response after a surprise second-round whitewash exit to Paulo Nebrida at the World Championship.

Smith averaged over 100 in a convincing 6-2 second-round win over Ricardo Pietreczko at the International Darts Open in Riesa this past weekend.

However, his run came to an end in the last 16 where he was beaten by world number one Luke Humphries.

The 36-year-old revealed that a European Tour crown is firmly in his sights — the one honour that is still missing from his résumé.

He said: “I want to win every tournament I play in.

“I want to do what Luke Humphries has done or Luke Littler.

“I’m working really hard to do that. But I’m also realistic as well.

“All I do is concentrate on the game in front of me.

“I don’t look at the bigger picture of needing to win the tournament because you’re playing the best players in the world.

“Without a doubt I know I’m good enough to win a European Tour title this year.

“I’ve already won a major and Players Championship so it would be nice to tick a Euro Tour off the list.”

Smith had an impressive campaign in 2024 reaching the last four of the Players Championship Finals and securing a ProTour title.
